MIRROR MIRROR ON THE WALL BY AISHA LEWIS

Who doesn’t remember the story of Snow White? A fairy tale about a beautiful kind hearted princess that is loved by all except her evil stepmother. This evil stepmother of hers is after her all because of what a mirror says. She wanted to be the fairest in the land but the mirror had revealed that in fact it wasn’t her that was the fairest but Snow White.

I wanted to pose a question today. What does the mirror say to you when you look into it. It would probably be cool if we all had talking mirrors we could go to everyday and who knows, some might find it kind weird of scary, lol lol. But I had to remind someone recently that they have to look in the mirror and remind themselves of what God says about them. Not what they think or what they see, or what somebody else says or thinks about them, but what God sees, what God says.

If we all had a mirror that revealed only God's thoughts about us how phenomenal would that be! Talk about a mirror, lol we’d never want to leave from in front of it! Constantly being told how wonderful and blessed we are, how much were loved and how were never alone or how strong we are because of Christ and how there is nothing that is off limits to us because we are children of The Most High King!

It would be amazing! to always hear what God thinks of us versus what we sometimes think of ourselves because of what someone else has said about us. It would be awesome to hear what He says compared to what we sometimes say about ourselves based upon our failures or our past. God is not some God that’s waiting to condemn us based on the bad decisions we’ve made. See we don’t need some magic mirror like the queen in Snow White, what we need is to see ourselves through God's lenses. And it’s not as hard as you think.

I always talk about how important it is to have the word in your heart because it’s in the word that you truly see how God sees you. You don’t have to doubt, you don’t have to guess or figure it out. You don’t have to hope God loves you and cares about you, you can read it for yourself. You can know for yourself exactly how He feels about you without a doubt. It’s all in His word. And it’s not based on you, or what you do, your accomplishments or any of that. He sees you the way that He does because of who He is and because you are covered in the blood of Jesus.

So be your own talking mirror today and everyday. Stand there and declare that I am fearfully and wonderfully made, that I am the apple of God’s eye! God never leaves me nor forsakes me! God loved me before I was even thought of! He sent the only son He had to die for me before I even existed! Declare I was on God’s mind since before the world began! Tell yourself I am the salt of the earth and I am a child of God! I am righteous because of Jesus Christ! I have the favor of God on my life! Gods plans for me are for good and not for evil, his plans are to prosper me! In Him I have a future and a hope!

Declare I am the light of the world because Christ is in me! Declare I am seated in high places with Christ Jesus! Declare that old things have passed away and that all things have become new! Declare today that I am a royal priesthood a holy nation, I am a part of a chosen generation! Declare that I am the head and not the tail! I am above only and not beneath! Declare today that I am blessed coming in and I am blessed going out! And there is so much more of what God says about you in His word. You just have to look in the book. I guess what I’m trying to say is that The bible is your mirror mirror on the wall.

Romans 8:28-38 (nkjv) 28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30 Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified. 1 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? 33 Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written: “For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” 37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
